Potatoes au gratin

3 to 4 potatoes, sliced, 1 onion, into rings, salt and pepper, 2 spoons butter, 2-3 tablespoons flour, half teaspoon salt, 1-2 cups of milk, 1-2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese

Preheat oven to 190 degrees *C.
Butter a casserole dish.
put half the potatoes into bottom of the casserole dish.
put on top the onion slices
add the remaining potatoes.
Season with salt and pepper.
Using a saucepan, melt butter and mix in the flour and salt, and stir constantly for one to two minutes.
Stir in milk.
Cook until mixture becomes quite thick.
Add and stir cheese ,
Continue stirring until melted, about 1-2 minutes.
Pour the mix over the potatoes.
Cover the dish with an aluminum foil.
Bake 1 hour in the preheated oven.
