Chicken Biryani

2 cups Basmati Rice
3/4 kg Chicken Pieces
1 cup Yogurt (curd)
3 sliced onions
1 tsp Ginger Paste
1/2 tsp Garlic Paste
2 tsp Red Chilli Powder
1 tsp Turmeric Powder
1 tsp Roasted cumin powder
2 tsp Garam Masala Powder
1/2 tsp Green Cardamom Powder
2 tbsp Green Coriander Leaves
Salt to taste
7 tbsp Oil
Mix yogurt, ginger garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, roasted cumin powder, garam masala, coriander powder and salt. Stir well.
Marinate the chicken with this mixture and keep aside for 1 hour.
Wash the rice and keep under water for 1 hour.
During waiting, heat oil in a pan. Fry the onions until golden brown. Separate the fried onions into two parts.
Take a deep pan, take 2 spoon of cooking oil, add the fried onions and marinated chicken then cook it for 10 minutes.
Add cardamom powder. Rinse the rice and add it into the pan, on the top of the chicken.
Spread the coriander leaves and some of fried onions on the top of the rice.
Cook with low heat for 45 minutes. Keep under tight cover and do not open the lid.
After 45 minutes check the rice and if it is cooked, switch off the heat and mix well.
Serve hot.
