Ingredients:
1. Heat ghee in a heavy bottom pan. Add suji and turmeric powder in it and fry on a low flame for approx 30 minutes or until it becomes very light golden brown. 2. Keep stirring in between to avoid burning. 3. Till then in another pan, mix sugar & water & boil it to make a syrup. Add saffron in it. 4. Now add this syrup to the sooji and increase the flame to medium. Constantly strir the mixture, until water gets completes absorbed. 5. Now add raisins & almonds. Serve hot
Directions:
This is one of the simplest Halwa recipe to prepare and it is liked by all from kids to grandpas. This dish is very sweet and should be taken in moderation. The Ghee makes this dish high in fat. Timings Preparation Time: 2 min Cooking Time: 35 min Ingredients • Semolina (Suji): 1/2 cup • Sugar: 1/2 cup • Ghee: 1/4 cup • Water: 2 cup • Cardomom Powder: 1/2 tsp • Raisin: 1 tbsp • Almond: 2 tbsp (sliced long & thin) • Turmeric Powder: 1/4 tsp (optional; used to give colour instead of food colour)
